Subtitles not shown

Hi,

I'm pretty new to this, but recently I bought a WD Network Hard Drive (My Book World Edition I) which enables me to see my downloaded movies on my PS3. However these movies all have embedded subtitles. When using Windows Media Player on a PC the subtitles automatically are shown. On my PS3 they don't show. Even when I try to select them.
Does anyone has experience with this ?
