Hello,
I've used PMS for a while now and had never any problems.
Since I use version 1.60 (just upgraded to 1.70, trying to solve the problem) some AVI files are out of sync.
In other words, the sound comes right after the persons stop talking in the video.
I try to watch some files (AVI files) that are on my computer. I use PMS to watch the files on my television through a PS3.
The network connection is wired, so the connection should be stable. As far as I can find, there is no internet connection problem.
The files seem only out of sync when I try to watch them through my PS3 on my (old) television.
The files are working fine on my computer, no out of sync. Also on another television, a new TV from my parents (smart tv) with also a wired connection to the Internet, is working fine.
That TV would be the solution, but the problem is that my parents are watching television to and don't want to watch my movies.
The strange thing is, that the out of sync problem only occurs after 3/4 part of the file. In the beginning all is fine.
I tried to disable the A/V sync option in the MEncoder menu. Also enabled the forced frame-rate option. Started the PMS again after saving the settings, but the problem is still there.
I also tried to play with some other options, but I'm not familiar with the trans-coding options.
I don't use subtitles and one other thing that I find strange is the "transcode buffer status" on the status tab. It's not showing anything, like there is no trans-coding running.
I have to say that not all files give those problems.
Can anyone help me how to fix this?
