Here's the scoop:
I have about 80-100 ISOs ripped from my retail DVDs sitting on my P4 3.0 Mhz. The ISOs are MOVIE only (ie. no menus, extras, etc.), however, they all have the subtitles (whenever available). Most ISOs have a DD 5.1 audio track, but a few also have a DTS 5.1/6.1 track.
I've been using PS3 Media Sever for a couple of weeks and find it awesome. However, I don't understand why it keeps transcoding the ISOs instead of just taking the MPEG2 file out of the ISO and streaming that to the PC. I want to stay away from transcoding files as much as possible due to the speed of my PC and the fact that it produces artifacts.
Is there a way to stream ISOs without transcoding either the video or audio?
Thanks for your help, Kage99.
