PS3 Media Server

Hi.

I've got a laptop now, and I am on step further to play movies now. But I get this error now: This content cannot be played (800288E1). I have 3 movies currently, 2 of them gives me this error. One of them plays perfectly with subtitles too, no idea why.

I tried with my friend's laptop before, all his movies (10 +) played perfectly. Including all three movies I have on my laptop, plays just fine on his laptop.

We have the same settings. So I have seriously no idea why it does this on my laptop (and why only one movie works). Do I have some outdated codes or, do I miss some codecs?

His laptop is almost 16 months old, and he downloads a lot of programs and stuff. Including media players (which might have the necessary codecs). He also says he downloaded some codecs for different movie formats. My laptop is quite new, and I might not have the necessary codecs (or even that many codecs) like he does.

I forgot to say, that I had the MEncoder engine enabled, when I posted the first reply. Anyway, if I tick the box "Definitely disable subtitles", the video will play fine. So I am guessing it has something to do with subtitles.

I tried every file in the transcode folder with both engines. Two videos played with each engine, but no subtitles.

Having the exact same problem after recently updating to 1.54 and 1.60. Was working perfectly on 1.50 and 1.52. I have not tried downgrading to see if it fixes it but that will be my next test. This occurs only when using [AviSynth/MEncoder]*. Every other play back method works. Avisynth/mencoder is only used occasionally for gpu hardware acceleration (DXVA/Cuda w/ coreavc) when tsmuxer fails (no video/no audio). FFDshow/coreavc/etc will popup on the system tray for a second or so and disappear. Like it tried to open the file and failed somewhere.

Tried swapping mencoder.exe, mplayer.exe and ffmpeg.exe in the ps3ms/win32/ folder with files from http://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayer-win32/files/ to no avail.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I installed the new PMS release 1.7 and I also Have the "Jump into Python (and onto XBMC)"
My PS3 is on latest Firmware 4.25. I can't open any stream in any folder All I am getting is THIS CONTENT CANNOT BE PLAYED. (800288E1). Can someone shed some light and help me out.
