PMS 1.53.0 Playback Stopping Near End of File

Been using PS3 media server for a while. Windows XP, Netgear readyNAS (Linux) nad now Windows 7. Various version of PS3MC.

Symptom is the same, playback just stops. Same place in a specific file, some files play fine. But for a file that won't play, it just stops at a consistent point during playback. This implies a file problem, but I can play it fine natively on 2 different Windows 7 machines, including the PS3MC.

renderer is a a PS3
server: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
AMD E-350 1.6GHz CPU
4GB Ram
PS3MC = 1.52.10 (same issue with 1.30.1)
Files are generally .mkv H.264, AC-3 Audio, AVC,

Attached is the debug log. Note I'm only trying to launch the one file (D:\Movies\myfile.720p.WEB-DL.DD5.1.H.264-POD.mkv). I have no idea why the other files are mentioned in the logs.

the log sort of implies I run out of buffer? The file I'm trying here stops approx 1:30 into it, but others can be much further along.

Any suggestions on what to try?

I have noticed that with the new version of PMS my video files are stopping (usually 10 seconds, up to a minute at times) before the end.

1- Computer: AMD Phenom II X4 905e 2.50Ghz, 16GB Ram, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 / PMS 1.53.0 with Java 7 Update 5 X64
2- Device you are streaming to: PS3
3- Your local network setup: Computer is wired, PS3 is wired both are on gigabit connections through Billion 7800N Router
4- MEncoder
5- Detailed information on what is not working: As the video reaches the end usually within the last minute playback will stop/freeze.

I also updated to PMS 1.53.0 and noticed my video files are stopping about 2 minutes before the end. I am also streaming to a PS3 and have updated Java.
Is there a fix for this? Thank you in advance

This issue has been reported for quite some time. I've also noticed this with some tv shows (without being able to tell if it is related to a container or video/audio codec) using mencoder.

What happens:
- Video stops ~10s before the end
- After the image has been frozen for ~20s it jumps back ~1min
- After this 1min has been played it stops at the same point
- The process starts over again

Any mencoder expert around who knows what's going on? (I'm not one of those :p)

Never spotted this behavior. What about to start MEncoder process outside PMS to isolate the problem (buffering or MEncoder problem).
If the MEncoder alone will make correct video file, bug is somewhere in PMS but as I said, I read lot of about it here in forum but never spotted it by own.

I tried starting the Mencoder outside PMS but couldn't get the command right. Can you post the commands to do this, I found abit of information from other sites but still couldn't get it to work. Cheers

Play affected file via PMS. Grab MEncoder command line with parameters from debug.log file. Replace end "-o .\\pipe..." to "-o filename.mpg"
Check if output file is truncated or not.
Be sure there are no spaces in path (for movie or mencoder.exe). If yes, you need to use "path_with_spaces"
