MKV Files - "The Data Is Corrupted."

PS3 Media Server has been working fine for me for several years, my computer's HDD crashed out last week and after resintalling win7 and getting my machine back in order, I keep running into the same issue for PMS now, where all MKV files I attempt to play I get "The Data Is Corrupted." AVI's seem to work just fine, so not sure what is causing this, after searching around on the board for a while I could not find a similar issue to mine, so I figured I'd post.


1- Computer: Intel Core i7 2.80GHz / 6GB RAM / Win7 Ultimate 64bit / PMS 1.52.1

3- Your local network setup: Computer is wired, PS3 is Wireless through Cisco Linksys E4200 (Wifi N)
4- Which engine you are using if you're transcoding: Not entirely sure, but I believe it's MEncoder

I have downloaded the same video (mkv Hi10bit) and tested by using MEncoder with my renderers.
This video plays fine but I noticed peaks of 64 Mb/s.

Yeah the issue I'm having isn't with the network speed, I fixed that long ago by changing the "Maximum bandwidth in Mb/s" to 3 in Gen Configuration, I just can't play any mkv Hi10bit files whatsoever it seems.

MEncoder for some reason doesn't like your video, but my quick Googling shows that the "Cannot initialize video driver" issue is typically caused by bad scaling parameters (I don't see any scaling in the MEncoder commands in your log) or bad pixel size during scaling (your vid is standard 720P).

Maybe a more in-depth debug.log will help:

Modify the root level in the logback.xml to TRACE as directed, and zip and attach the full log.

This actually looks like it fits with your issue (still not sure why it's only affecting you though...) and the timeframe is close (SubJunk's SB29 MEncoder build in 1.52.1 is now out-of-date). You can either

• wait for the next build of PMS
• build your own (https://github.com/ps3mediaserver/ps3me ... r/BUILD.md)
• try directly replacing the MEncoder and MPlayer EXEs in the "<PMS install directory>\win32" folder (latest sources at https://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserve ... 253Dclosed)
