Very Low Sound When Playing Movies

I just downloaded PS3MS a few hours ago and I tried to play some movies from it but the sound level is extremely low. The picture looks great but unless I turn the volume up all the way, I can't hear the sound. Plus, when I turn the volume up high, the sound gets all crackly. Anyone know how to fix this?
