MKV Stuttering

So, something's changed between 0.9 and 1.3. MKVs are stuttering all over the place, and I'm not sure what to do to fix it.

Comp stats:

Windows Vista SP1
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
4 GB Ram
Wireless connection from computer to router, PS3 is wired

Have you tried the new "Enhanced multicore support for H264 HD content" function?
Also, check if you selected 2 cores for the "Number of cores used for transcoding:" function.

depends, 15 is a maximum, or 10 when your signal is in bad shape

That didn't work, but pausing at the beginning to let it buffer up does.

This seems to point at a buffering issue.

Same problem here. Pausing helps but it seems as though there is a buffer problem. There is a 4 page, as of today, post on this issue elsewhere on this forum and no body seems to have come up with a good fix yet.

I'm not sure it's necessarily a network issue. I have gigabit ethernet between PC and PS3 with average bitrates of around 10-30 Mbps (depending on settings etc.), constantly full transcoding buffer, and I still often experience alot of stuttering. I think there's something with mencoder...
