"Fake" File Extension

Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to "add" certain extensions for the server to play. Basically I sometimes rename ".avi" to ".avx" or some other fake extension, for my own ...discretion on the PC so that others don't play them.

When I browse through the PS3, these AVI files aren't displayed because of my fake extension, so I was wondering if the I could add a list of user-defined extensions to list on the XMB. It seems like a simple thing, since they're just plain video files, thanks.
