No, it will be with AviSynth. Making it with MEncoder only would mean developing it from nothing, whereas there is a very good AviSynth plugin already which I develop.

Hm, bad news because AviSynth engine has so many disadvantages so it will be for minority only.
Is it somehow possible to load your plugin same way as Sherpya loaded external decoder?
Anyway great work ;)

In PMS, Avisynth runs through MEncoder, meaning it has all the advantages of MEncoder, so what are the disadvantages other than larger filesize?

Edit: In fact, Avisynth has advantages over MEncoder, including one major one which is that it is never out of sync :)

When Avisynt is used, you can't use Audio/Subtitle preference and you need to set it in Haali media splitter.
What I remember, when AviSynt is used, it counts with codecs/filters installed and its settings so it can influence output quality(bad setting etc.) or that file will not be played at all(missing codecs installed in OS)
There are others but I don't remember right now... 8-)

Well, if you have videos with only one language you wont have a problem. But its a good point. If you have dual language videos you cant choose the audio language.
But thats a price i would pay :D

Also as I said any codecs installed affects final output. If you will have e.g. FFDSHOW codec, the output will be affected by its settings (enabled subtitles, incorrect colour depth/aspect ratio, etc.)
Who knows what he/she is doing, it should not be problem but for majority it can lead to not working PMS(missing codecs) or poor final quality.
Process is similar as in these examples:

MEncoder takes what ends on the right side so everything between can affect final quality(in good or bad manner :) )
MEncoder itself works out of the box without any codecs installed so no complains of missing audio or video codecs or incorrect settings.
EDIT: Sorry for OT

Man... this was about a Motion Interpolation function in PMS.. not about the disadvantages of AviSynth..
