Problem playing H264 mov files

Postby olawelin » Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:07 pm

Hello, im having problem streaming these files, h264 mov file from Canon EOS 5d Mk2
Sometimes the file loads but the movie seems to only have the first frame in it so i get only a picture, and sometimes it says corrupted data.
If i try to copy the file to the ps3 it will be very small like 928k, original size is ~200mb.
any suggestions?

my machine:
XP SP3 (32bit)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 3800+ 2gb RAM

Ethernet 100Mbits cable via Dlink router

File info from PS3:
Title 2009_03_14_058.MOV [MEncoder]*
Size -
0´30"
1920x1080
MPEG-2 42.3 Mbps

Attached debug file.

It may be that your processor cant transcode 1080p fast enough to keep up. Have you tried enabling the "Enhanced Multicore" option? It might help. The other option that might work is the "switch to tsMuxeR when h264 video is PS3 compatible" (I don't know that this is, though).

are these files playing well on your computer ? I got some mark ii samples as well, and you need a beefy cpu to even *play* these

They are playing on my computer but not very good with quicktime in full size.
But i heard that the PS3 with media server would do the job better even with an older computer.

unfortunately, the mark II samples are one of these h264 mov files the server does not handle well. I hope this will improve in the future
