Audio sync problem

I have an audio/video sync problem. I try to play mkv files with x264 content using MEncoder, the audio is ~half a second to late. I see that there are "codec specific parameters" you can set, but what do I type in there to sync the A/V?

Have you tried to uncheck the "A/V sync alternative method" in the Mencoder settings?

Yes, for me that did no difference at all unfortunately.
