Playlists for images?

Postby travisp » Sun Feb 13, 2011 1:07 am

Is there some way to do image playlist type things?

I would like to be able to put a most of my images in a list, randomize them and display them on my PS3. I can currently select all photos from the library (which includes all the stupid AlbumArt images since there's no way to filter them out), but even here it can't be randomized. Unfortunately I also can't select slideshow simply on the parent folder, because images are in subfolders from there.

I use linux. Perhaps there is some easy way to generate an rss file from a folder of images, especially matching some set of criteria? Anyone have any ideas on this?

edit: I don't really see this as a "Feature suggestion" since I'd like to do this *now* and figure it should be possible with some set of tools to create a web image "feed"

(Moved to Feature Suggestions.)

A "random" sort order (i.e. like sort -R on Linux/Unix) would enable this. For now, your best option might be to ask in the pms-mlx thread.

Thanks chocolateboy. Unfortunately pms-mlx does not yet support audio and pictures. But perhaps it will soon!

You should probably try using it before ruling it out. :-)
