I have an IstarHD that sees the server ok, but will not play anything back. All the NMTs are syabas based players. Popcorn Hour etc etc. It would be great if the server would support those players in the future. Love my PS3 but the option to use with NMT would be great. Thanks again for this outstanding application.

It's like the xbox support... I think I will work on some changes in most parts of the application to support different players (add a "mediarenderer" variable somewhere in networking, streaming and transcoding code)
the thing is I would avoid if possible those "xml config files for each renderer" every other media server is dealing with (who wants to edit XML? )

I have Popcorn Hour NMT, same results. We appreciate you taking a look at it and the great work that has been done to date. Personally NMT is lower priority since it does a great job playing from SMB/NFS anyway, would prefer Xbox360 first since it has no means of playing ISO currently. I can confirm on 360 that I can see the movies but they just won't play - think this is already known, would be happy to test 360 or NMT.

I would agree on the lower priority. For me the PS3 is working very well. I am just being selfish as I could move the NMT to the bedroom and get media playback in another room. I considered another PS3 but the NMT price is much lower if no gaming is desired.

I don't get it. Why do you need a media server like PMS for Popcorn Hour? It plays everything natively, doesn't it?

Actually no it only plays SOME of the content. For example it won't do DVR-MS files at all and PMS handles them great ! I watched 24 last night in full HD using the PS3 and the dvr-ms recorded on my Vista PC. For me it is just giving me another option to use. There is no "one solution" to media playback and it sucks !

By now I expected we would have whole house media centers where you could watch/listen to anything anytime with no restrictions. DRM has of course made that impossible.
