Collapse similarly named folders

Postby JKross » Mon Apr 23, 2012 10:42 am

I was wondering if it would be possible (or has been discussed before) to collapse the view of similarly named shared folders so that there is only one unique name.

So if I'm sharing

Currently on the PS3 I'd see

Video -> Series

ie three identical names to choose between with their own sets of series folders inside of them depending on which HDD they're coming from.

Would it be possible to collapse that so the PS3 would only show one single virtual Series folder that contained all the subfolders from both HDDs?

Then you could easily split media over multiple drives as they filled up. So long as they had the same names for their parent directories that are shared through PMS, the server would aggregate them together and present them as if they lived in one place when viewed from the PS3.

You can do that with pms-mlx (see link in sig) by adding a file system folder.
If you always wanted to have your most recent videos at the top of the folder in the ps3 or wished you could group all videos with the same genre in one folder, have a look at pms-mlx
