Postby kod » Mon Jan 19, 2009 1:57 am

Hi,

Thanks for this great app, i ditched tversity and moved all my stuff to PS3 media server. Truly does what its intended to do and it does it very well!

Request: can you guys please add sopcast? at least ability to search for soccer games. this would complete my quest for a media application with capability to watch global soccer games on my TV rather then PC.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

The streaming from sopcast to ps3 is possible, it's quite easy too.

How I did it:

With sopcast you can open your stream with VLC, here's how you do that ( http://www.myp2pforum.eu/sopcast/11734-sopcast-vlc.html )

If you did that, and have a stream open, you see an IP at your VLC window (looks like this: 127.0.0.1:8902)

After you set that up, go to your WEB.conf file, open it with notepad and look up to a podcast you dont need anyway. Change a link to the IP, save and you have your sopcast stream on your PS3.

Oh yeah, don't forget to leave your sopcast+vlc open while streaming

Actually you dont have to mess with VLC at all. Even the standard WMP-window that the sopcast-client opens, streams from the same stream. If you right-click on the picture and select "properties" you can see the correct adress and port. (address is always 127.0.0.1 but port can vary)

Are you trying to stream football (for example via myp2p)? Sopcast cat be streamed via PMSEncdoer (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6644) and the Channel plugin (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9329= helps you to find sopcast links on for example myp2p.

Hello.

I'm new to PS3 Media Server and i'm very interested in streaming sopcast to my PS3.

I can stream video's from my HDD to PS3 yet i tried both ways with VLC and without it to stream sopcast and also tried typing in web.conf

videostream.Web,TVs=Mecze,http://127.0.0.1:8902/,http://i2.pinger.pl/pgr461/d4583fc9000d8deb4b20161c/girls+world+cup+football+team.jpeg

and adres with /steam, without it, with / and without it

and what i got is just got black screen and sometimes a dlna error shows-up.

My PS3 server tracking says its serving the stream but bandwith is always 0 kb or negative value.

Ps3-Laptop connection is wireless through router.

Thank you for every advice
