Turn cache on or off (without enabling media library)

I would like an option to use a cache for my media files without having to use the media library. I like to organize my folders the way I like them, and I would like to reduce the time it takes to load up my movie folders when I fire up my PS3. I would be great to have a simple option to turn cache on or off, independent of using the media library.

if you enable the media library, you don't have to scan !!

Yes I see that, but I would like option not to have the #Media Library# folder shown on the PS3.

Either an option to not show it or an option to use a cache independent of the media library would be preferred.

I was also wondering if this is possible (to hide the media library folder, but keep the faster speeds)
