Ubuntu 8.10 64bit help please

Postby had3z » Wed Mar 04, 2009 11:22 pm

First let me start off by saying hello to everyone. I am a rookie (not a noob) to Ubuntu and I am having problems installing ps3media server. I have had it running once before when it was in its earlier stages and do not remember how I did it. I've gone to the java website and downloaded the jre-6u12-linux-x64.bin, and also the version 1.10.1 here, but when I run pms.sh I receive the error
exec: 48: java: not found
. I know that somewhere in the .sh file I need to edit the file to include where java is located on my computer, but I don't know the process of finding it (java), or where to it needs to be placed within the config file. I am running Ubuntu 8.10, AMD turion 64x2 2.0 GHz | 512 KB x2 L2 Cache, 3 GB ram, Kernel 2.6.27-11. Any help would be completely appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Well after some tinkering, I decided to look for jave in symantics. It ran after installing jave from there, apparently I wasn't setting java up correctly.

ok now that I have it up and running, my next question. I have 2 routers (ap1 being 192.168.1.1 which the laptop is connected too) (ap2 being 192.168.2.1 which has ps3 connected too). ap1 is connected to laptop and ap2 is connected to ap1 with a different ip address (for internet purposes) both encrypted (wep). Can I configure PMS to connect to the ps3?
