I'm going to try a manual install of 1.22.0 since that just came out - but I have been having a heckuva time lately with the java processes pegging out a core and just throwing DNLA protocol error 5006 IIRC.

Very annoying. Then of course it says there are no titles in the folder I was in. I restarted the service, and eventually the whole machine and still this issue persisted. I hope there's nothing wrong with my hardware...

Hrm, just tried 1.22.0 on a manual install with no CONF... same issue! This is perplexing. The hdd crunches for a long time... then the error gets spat out after it loads a tiny part of my Movies folder...

Same here... especially with high def content and large files...

please let me know if you get it sorted out.

Actually I came back to post on what would be the best way to revert to 1.10.5... Because that fixed all the issues I was having.

I basically just replaced the pms.jar file that's in /usr/share/pms-linux (I just renamed the 1.21.0 pms.jar) - now the service statement still works, I can still start the application using the service pms-linux start command - which is great! However, the application seems to not care about my PMS.conf file, or the logging in /var/log/pms-linux... so what gives? I was hoping it would just be as easy as dropping the .jar in, evidently it's not :P.

Edit - so what would be the best way to revert to 1.10.5? I'd like to keep all the niceties provided by this package - init.d script, logs, centralized conf, etc...

To revert to 1.10.5, you have to copy pms.jar over the other in /usr/share/pms-linux and do a little modification in /usr/bin/pms-linux script. open /usr/bin/pms-linux with any editor right after the line
Code: Select all
export PMS_HOME
, add
Code: Select all
cd $PMS_HOME
and save. in folder /usr/share/pms-linux, create a linux dir. Make a link with
Code: Select all
ln -s /usr/bin/tsMuxeR /usr/share/pms-linux/linux/tsMuxeR
, and restart your pms. you're supposed to be in 1.10.5 with all your settings now. If you have problems, let me know.

I too am experiencing issues out of the blue. Have been running the same load for at least a month with no problems. All of a sudden today, DLNA 2006 errors, folders not listing files, really slow response. I guess I will have to try to back-rev like the previous comment. If anybody figures out what is causing this, please post.

Thx

Any plans for a 1.22.0 DEB package?

Anyone having dlna 2006 errors and slow indexing, "sudo apt-get purge libmediainfo0" fixed the issue for me. I don't know why though! :)

I tried posting in another thread and couldn't find a resolution, so I figured I'd try posting here since this is the package and install script I used to install the server.

My issue is that every time I want to play something, I need to drop to a console and restart the service in order for the XBOX to make a connection. If I don't, the XBOX just keeps churning and states it cannot connect. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, it will connect on subsequent attempts, but most times, I try 4-6 times with no luck. Then I restart the service and get in on the first shot.

Is there a setting that puts the server to sleep that I'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance.

Could be you router, try turning UPNP off on it. With mine, the PS3 doesn't recognise it straight away when I turn on the PS3, it can take a couple of minutes to show up in the XMB, but if i SSH over to my box and resart the service it pops up straight away. I guess PMS sends out some sort of 'here I am!' to the network at start up and at set intervals...
