Multiple servers?

Postby Nes » Mon Feb 09, 2009 7:31 pm

Hiya,

This should be a simple question. Is it possible to configure the name the server publishes to the PS3? I.e. can we configure "PS3 Media Server [hostname]" to say something else? I'd like to run multiple PS3 Media Server instances from the same host.

I've configured instance 2 to run on port 5002 and seems to start up OK, but the PS3 doesn't recognize the 2nd instance (although it receives discover request and replies: Receiving search request from 10.0.0.12! Sending DISCOVER message...).

Thanks!

FYI

I am successfully running 2 PMS instances on my host now. I had to build my own patched version of PMS, adding a "friendlyName" configuration property so that I could set different DLNA friendly names for each instance and I now always generate a unique UUID for each instance.

Works well.

Thanks,
