Gentoo console mode

Postby nubcake » Sun Sep 13, 2009 11:43 am

Heya!

I'm trying to set up PMS in Gentoo, but I'm getting this error when starting it.
Code: Select all
./PMS.sh console
basename: missing operand
Try `basename --help' for more information.
* Home for VM '' does not exist:
* Invalid System VM:

Code: Select all
java-config -L
The following VMs are available for generation-2:
1)      IcedTea6-bin 1.4.1 [icedtea6-bin]

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks!

Installed Sun JDK and it works like a charm!
Code: Select all
java-config -L
The following VMs are available for generation-2:
1)      IcedTea6-bin 1.4.1 [icedtea6-bin]
*)      Sun JDK 1.6.0.13 [sun-jdk-1.6]

The only problem I have now is playing mkv-files, I get 'Corrupted Data' when trying to play them. Doesn't matter if it's from a archive or not.

PMS.conf
Code: Select all
enable_archive_browsing = true

I can playback mkv just fine. When I am playing a mkv file back, if I run a "ps -axf", I can see that mplayer is spawned twice, one to strip the video out and one to strip the audio out of the mkv container. Then tsMuxeR puts them together.

ffmpeg
Code: Select all
media-video/ffmpeg-0.5_p19787  USE="3dnow 3dnowext cpudetection encode faac faad hardcoded-tables jpeg2k mmx mmxext mp3 network sdl theora threads v4l v4l2 vorbis x264 xvid zlib -X -alsa (-altivec) -bindist -custom-cflags -debug -dirac -doc -gsm -ieee1394 -ipv6 -jack -opencore-amr -oss -schroedinger -speex -ssse3 -test -vdpau" VIDEO_CARDS="-nvidia"

I built it from the SVN aswell but I got this:
Code: Select all
MPlayer SVN-r29699-4.1.2 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team

The strange thing is that the thumbnails work fine.

What kind of errors did you get with the new versions?

emerge emul-linux-x86-xlibs and then try playing mkv, tell us how that goes.

I can play mkvs when they are unrar:ed, but not while in an archive.
