Problems with VOBs playback going fast

Postby Mantar » Wed Aug 19, 2009 5:21 pm

Hello All,

I have a problem with transcoding on a linux PS3MS install. Whenever I transcode a VOB file the video plays back what appears 1.5 faster then normal. The audio sounds normal during the process. This happens if I go to the transcode directory and select a file with mencoder or tsmuxer. If I transcode a MKV file it plays and looks perfect.. I am a bit lost at what to do at this point. Any suggestions? Below are some specs:

PMS-1.11.356
Ubuntu 9.04
FFmpeg version 0.5-svn17737+3:0.svn20090303-1ubuntu6
MEncoder SVN-r29532-4.3.3
MPlayer SVN-r29532-4.3.3
SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.10.6

I also tried using the defaults from apt-get, and the default tsMuxer that came with PMS. The debug log file doesn't have anything useful.. just [New I/O server worker #1-2] TRACE 21:49:50.454 Starting transcode/remux of. Like everything is going ok with it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mantar

Post the MediaInfo text output for the file(s) in question.

Just an update to what I found last night.

If i use this in the config line "engines = avsffmpeg, ffmpegaudio, mencoderwebvideo, mplayervideodump, mplayerwebaudio, rawthumbs" all of the videos that
showed up "corrupted" or played back fast, were perfect again.

The only remaining issue with that line is obviously no transcoding.. so I couldn't even see the MKV files I have.

I am assuming it is something wrong with MEncoder/Mplayer on my system? Has anyone had any experience with corrupt or sync issues with MEncoder? I need
some pointers if you have them!

system info
PMS-1.11.356
Ubuntu 9.04
FFmpeg version 0.5-svn17737+3:0.svn20090303-1ubuntu6
MEncoder SVN-r29532-4.3.3
MPlayer SVN-r29532-4.3.3
SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.10.6

Thanks,
Mantar
