[Resolved] PMS not showing GUI

Postby alectro » Tue Jun 23, 2009 1:36 am

Hi you all

Since today I was able to use PMS with fine results.

Today when I execute PMS using a launcher executed on console:
Code: Select all
cd /home/alectro/Escritorio/pms-linux-1.10.1
sh PMS.sh
I got the softworking as usual but not showing the GUI, so I got PMS on my PS3 but I can't change any configuration using the UI. There was no changes on my Ubuntu, neither on PS3Media server or in my PS3.

Anyone can help me to get the GUI viewable?
Thanks a lot!

type "java -version" in a terminal and post the result here
maybe it's also a problem of minimized option... did you enable the "start minimized" option ?

Hi Shagrath, thanks for helping me, this is the result:
Code: Select all
java version "1.6.0_0"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.4.1) (6b14-1.4.1-0ubuntu7)
OpenJDK Client VM (build 14.0-b08, mixed mode, sharing)

What do you mean about enabling the "start minimized" option ? I don't know how to do that.

you can try to install a Sun java package, open JDK seems buggy sometimes
about the minimized feature, it's a checkbox you may have enable earlier in the general configuration tab, and which hide the GUI in the sys tray (but if you didn't check the option, no problem here)

Shagrath, nhasian:
In the past I have some problems using sun java package so I decided to try OpenJDK.
Now I try again with Sun java and it worked! Thanks a lot both of you for your help! :D
Regards.
