GUI not starting in Ubuntu 9.04

I have heard from many people that this is THE ps3 dlna server to use, however, when I run PMS.sh it appears to run but has no GUI. I have JRE 6 installed. In the terminal it says "GUI environment no available Switching to console mode". Any thoughts would be appreciated! thanks!
