Scene viewer and resume playback

So last night I had 5 minutes left to watch of a movie and accidentally hit the stop button. I couldn't find a way to pick up where I left off. I realize its transcoding on the fly but I thought maybe it was caching the entire file to tmp? So I could only fast forward at 1.5x and the scene selection viewer puked and booted me out of the movie.

Is there a way to make these things work? Perhaps if I had a faster processor (running dual 1.2 tualatins)?

Either that or can I get the settings for mencoder to transcode all of my movies before watching them? Would this let me seek through the file/scene selection?

Anyone else found a way around this?

Use the "Jump to..." in the PS3's playback menu.

"Jump to..." work great for the Divx films, thanks!

No luck with this on the 720p films that I have in mkv... is this normal or is my server showing its age? I suspect that the DiVx recording also don't require transcode on the fly so that may be some of the difference...

So I was watching a different video today with build 630 but when I "Go To..." 15 minutes in the player locks up and PMS console says
