linux configuration

Postby karl0s » Mon May 04, 2009 1:51 pm

Hi,

I have just tried out ps3media server its great ( on windows ) however i don't wish to virtualize a windows machine and i want to run it linux server one question if you are running from command line how do you modify the settings like you do in windows?

As stated in this post the config file is generated on first boot it does not appear to be viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1763

Also when trying to play something ( one of the tv channels via the ps3 i get the following )

/var/tmp/javaps3media does exist and is writable as i am currently running as root for testing purposes to make things easier

[mkfifo] TRACE 13:45:14.944 Process mkfifo has a return code of 1! Maybe an error occured... check the log file
[vlc] TRACE 13:45:15.103 java.io.FileNotFoundException: /var/tmp/javaps3media/VLC1241441114933 (No such file or directory)

[vlc] TRACE 13:45:15.103 [vlc] 13:45:15.102 Fatal error in process starting: : /var/tmp/javaps3media/VLC1241441114933 (No such file or directory)
[Thread-12] TRACE 13:45:34.357 Sending ALIVE...

I have installed VLC, mplayer and mencoder and ffmpeg what else is needed am i missing something?

Thanks.

Hi,

I had something similar to this on Centos 5.3 and found it to be VLC refusing to run as root.

Removing the temp file and running as a user solved the issue.

Hi,

The problem is it does not create the temp file the directories exist but nothing is in there, i gave it a go running as user same issue.

Also how do you configure it properly like directories etc in linux?

Thanks.

Try a chmod -Rf 777 /var/tmp/javaps3media

Folders are in PMS.conf
Code: Select all
...
folders = \/home\/user\/Videos,\/home\/user\/Musiques,\/home\/user\/Images
...
