videos skipping

Hi,

I have the mediaserver set up, and it sees everything, but my videos tend to skip. I figure it is just my wireless connection, but it should not be a problem as it is not too far away.

AVIs that are about 700mb take in the area of 1 hour to copy, but when watching them directly they skip (even if the movie is 2 hours). It is not only ps3 media server, also fuppes had the same problem so I assume it is my network, but just curious to see if anyone has the same problems or any ideas on how to speed it up.

I am running Ubuntu 8.10.
