Unsupported PixelFormat 61 - and possibly other errors

I'm trying to play a file which I ripped from av DVD with AcidRip. As expected, the PS3 responded with "uknown file format". The log says this:

Here's the file info for the video file:
Code: Select all
Flaaklypa.avi: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 720 x 406, 25.00 fps, video: FFMpeg MPEG-4, audio: MPEG-1 Layer 3 (stereo, 48000 Hz)

The file of course plays exelently locally on the Ubuntu machine, in (g)mplayer. Any ideas?

Now, before anyone asks, it's the version that's available though the Ubuntu repository. Installing PMS manually doesn't work; Only half of the movies will work, and everything is slow and choppy. So, the only version that works in all my Ubuntu systems - the last five or six versions of Ubuntu - is the one in the repository.

I don't mean to be rude, really. But I have NEVER found anyone in here who could help with all the "unknown format" or similar errors when running on a Linux machine which is perfectly capable of showing the video locally. I truly like PMS, but I'm getting to the point where buying something that works on all known video formats is beginning to look like a good alternative.

You useless, stupid imbeciles. You REALLY don't want people to use this POS anymore, do you? Fuck you. Truly, deeply.
