Check PMS state from command line?

I have a script that sleeps my Ubuntu 11.04 PC on a schedule, to go off at night.

I'd like to modify it to postpone sleep if PMS is streaming a file. Is there a command I can put in a bash script to test if PMS is currently serving a file?
