mkv not playing

Postby snkpetrus » Sun Jul 29, 2012 7:26 pm

For a few days now I have been trying to get the PS3 Mediaserver running so it can play MKV files but for some reason it keeps on complaining with the following error message:
Code: Select all
INFO  2012-07-29 20:21:03.651 [New I/O server worker #1-3] Starting transcode/remux of Terra.Nova.S01E01.720p.HDTV.x264-ORENJI.mkv

INFO  2012-07-29 20:21:09.332 [New I/O server worker #1-4] Starting transcode/remux of Terra.Nova.S01E01.720p.HDTV.x264-ORENJI.mkv
ERROR 2012-07-29 20:21:14.875 [New I/O server worker #1-4] There is no inputstream to return for Terra.Nova.S01E01.720p.HDTV.x264-ORENJI.mkv [MEncoder]

When I try to play the file on my Linux machine it works fine. Also running the PS3 Mediaserver on Windows works perfect. All formats are played back.

I already digged into the forum to find a solution but all the solutions that were suggested so far didn't work for me. Another strange thing is that it first couldn't find the tsMuxeR file. According to some threads in the forum it was because of permissions but updating that didn't work at all. I had to copy the txMuxer file from the linux directory into the root directory where you start PS3 Mediaserver and untill now I ended up with the error messages above.

I am running Centos 6 and the latest PS3 Mediaserver 1.60.0. Does anybody have a clue why it's not working for me?

when i have a transcoding issue I usually try to run the conversion manually to see if it fails and that gives me some more pointers. like for instance you could do at the terminal

Code: Select all
mencoder filname.mkv -o newfile.mkv
