Well. I've been a fan of PS3MS for years, using it mostly on Windows to serve files up to my PS3. Recently, I've converted an old laptop, which I'd like to keep in a drawer and never open again once it is set up, into a file/media server running Ubuntu.
I've set everything up, using the repository package, got everything running, added the folders I want, etc., etc. Everything is up and running as I want it. My problem is, every once in a while the server needs to be restarted, like when I've added new files to the served folders to keep them all in order.
I know there's a couple of Web UIs out there for people running PS3MS on NAS devices. And I know I could've installed the program as a daemon to constantly have command line access to it, but lets be serious, I don't have the computer chops for that.
So I guess my question is this: How can I remotely restart the server from another computer on the network? Is there some sort of Web UI I haven't managed to google? Is there any way I can schedule a restart like once a week or something? Maybe? Hopefully?
If you have some kind of involved solution, please spell it out as if you're talking to a very simple person, as I'm out of my comfort zone here.
My eternal thanks.
