audio issue, no voices.

Been searching around. not finding anything.
running latest, ubuntu 12.04. Have an issue where sound will work, but the actual voices will not. not sure if this started after i upgraded to 12.04.
HP g7 laptop. Ubuntu 12.04, i3, 4gb wifi
PS3 MS 1.51.0 ppa happy neko version
going to PS3 w/latest update wifi



I've searched around and found a likewise problem but no clear solution.

But how can i get this diagnosed and solved, im kinda noob, sorry.

Had the same problem.
Try to change this in your config:
set mencoder_use_pcm = true to mencoder_use_pcm = false
and set mencoder_remux_ac3 = true to mencoder_remux_ac3 = false

I already have use_pcm and remux_ac3 false but I still have no voice/sounds in mkv files avi files work fine. Sound starts with video but if I fast forward it fades and slows down.

Small sample? Do you mean a sample of media file I am trying to stream? I suspect it happens only to mkv format due to transcoding on a slow/old server.

I tried a smaller low resolution MKV file. It fast forwards video and audio without any issue. And I went back to huge 720p x264 MKV files and they start fine but if I fast forward I lose voice. High resolution AVI files work fine including fast forward.

Yes, I want 100-200 Mb sample of file in question. You can split large MKV with MKVToolnix http://techfleece.com/2011/06/18/how-to ... kvtoolnix/

Other files seem to work fine except ones in while it says corrupted file but restarting server fixes it. I ran out of space so i had to delete a part of my video folder. The problematic file went away with it. I will post a sample if I get into problem again.
