worked until a windows 7 machine connected to the network

PMS-linux worked great until 2 days ago when I saw my wife's new windows 7 laptop on the list of devices to stream media from on the xbox360, and like a moron I selected the windows 7 machine. after that the xbox360 will only show the windows machine. and the pms-linux server is gone
I have removed the windows machine from the network and it still shows up, I have reset the xbox360 and pms-linux, and still only the windows 7 machine(that is off ) shows up on the xbox360.

I feel like this is an xbox360 issue and not a psm-linux issue but I did not know where else to ask for help.
has any one else had this problem and if so what was the solution

ALSO
have tried other media servers but the xbox360 refuses to see the linux machine now that it has seen a windows machine
