PS3 tsMuxeR problem Ubuntu 11.10 happy-neko PPA

[loz]

I have installed PS3 Media Server 1.50.2+svn1092+mplayer34587-4 using the happy-neko PPA. This certainly makes life much easier than the manual install.

However, tsMuxeR seems to be broken. Getting the data is corrupted message on the PS3.

cpu: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz, 3100 MHz

memory: 4GB

o/s: Ubuntu 11.10 oneiric amd64 3.0.0-16-generic

WD TV Live

3-Network setup

Direct wired gigE connection through gigE switch to both devices

4- Which engine you are using if you're transcoding (MEncoder, AviSynth/MEncoder, TSmuxer)

5- What is not working

First movie produces "data is corrupted" message on PS3. Second movie plays audio for 10-15 secs with no video - screen stays blank

Both movies play fine on the WD TV Live.

To me it looks like a permissions issue (MEncoder isn't able to create the pipe in the tmp directory), but you should have a dev (or Linux person) confirm.

I might add that I had a previous manual install of PMS that played these movies fine.

I removed this manual install and used the happy-neko PPA to install 1.50.x.

The result is no change for me.

This movie results in no video and about 15 seconds of audio, and then nothing. I have to press 'O' on the PS3 remote to get back to the menu.

I really am at my wits end. Any help greatly appreciated.

What happens when you play the first one from the #Transcode# folder with MEncoder?
The second one is variable framerate - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13774&p=66178&hilit=variable#p66178

I will check tonight what happens when I check the transcode folder.

Regarding the second movie, most of my movies are like this encoded using Handbrake from DVD. They all played fine in the pre 1.5x releases of PMS.

In the #Transcode# folder I get the following results:
1. tsMuxeR - same, data corrupted
2. mencoder - works ok
3. no encoding - works ok

I should also say that all the movies played flawlessly for many months with the pre 1.5x release of PMS.
