Trying to get PMS working, and I'm only missing one part. Unfortunately, it's what I most wanted PMS for: streaming video from the web (things like the BFMTV and France24 links in the initial setup).
As background, I can stream audio files fine. I can stream video files OK, which is to say that the video and audio quality is good when it's running, but there seems to be a bandwidth issue, because it frequently pauses and then picks up again a few seconds later. It works though. Streaming files isn't that important to me though, because I can play them through other means. What I really want is streaming web audio (radio) and video (TV) content.
Streaming internet audio works great. I can stream several radio stations without issue.
The first engine in the list for web audio is VLC.Streaming TV is partway there. I'm concentrating on BFMTV and France 24 because everyone has them, and they're streams that I want to access anyway. I'm using VLC as the first engine for web video streaming. The other two engines gave me unsupported data type. With VLC, I get good video quality on both stations. For BFMTV, I have no audio. For France24, I have audio, but it is AWFUL. You can hear the audio stream, and it is correct (it corresponds to the video), but it is FULL of static.
I tried adding the PMEencoder plugin, but that gave me unsupported data also. I also tried clicking/unclicking the options on the transcoder page in PME, but it didn't change anything.

For setup, I have Ubuntu Lucid. My PS3 is attached through wifi to Linksys router. Not sure what model of PS3 it is, but it's the 80G hard drive that sold with Metal Gear Solid.

I get "corrupted data" for those channels now. Remember that I used to get good video, but no or bad audio for them using VLC. Any ideas? Thanks.
