After Update from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 tsMuxer Problem

Hi!

Today I've updated my HP Microserver (Tech Specs: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm ... 48009.html]) just with 4GB of RAM.

I had Ubuntu 11.04 64Bit installed and my PS3MediaServer worked fine with MKV files and tsmuxer on my Playstation3 and on my Samsung LE40C750.

Now TSMuxer isn't working anymore on my ps3 and TV (unknown data).

MEncoder is working for about 15 seconds than it also aborts.

I get tsmuxer

While the name of the exception is interesting, it is the stacktrace underneath it that really pinpoints the problem to developers.
Please supply your debug.log for further analysis.

The NullPointerException was fixed as of r834 and just indicates that the tsmuxer process didn't start properly. It should go away if you update to PMS 1.40.1, but this won't help anything.

I'm also on 64bit ubuntu (11.04) and tsmuxer has always been flaky for me, its errors are the same whether running inside PMS or on the commandline.

tsmuxer wont work for me on ps3 and my samsung tv

Well here's your error:

tsMuxeR: ../vodTransport/src/nalUnits.cpp:210: virtual int NALUnit::deserialize(uint8_t*, uint8_t*): Assertion `(*buffer & 0x80) == 0' failed.

The problem lies inside tsMuxeR, a program that hasn't been supported since 2009.
The only thing you can do about it is to try to avoid the use of tsMuxeR for those particular videos.

I can't examine the tsMuxeR code, so I have no way of answering that question, sorry.
A long time ago I googled for a similar log message and found nothing of use. Of course you are more than welcome to search for an answer yourself and post the results here!
