Audio too quiet when playing AVIs & MKVs (MP4s okay)

Postby Pikmin » Tue Jan 29, 2013 9:47 am

Hi everyone,
I'm running pms 1.71 on ubuntu 12.04 server.

When I stream mp4 files they work great, but avi and mkv files are too quiet, I have to turn up the volume on my amp from 20 to 35.

Thanks, are those settings for mencoder only?

I try not to use it because it's very heavy on the cpu. Most stuff I watch works fine with no transcoding option. I'm streaming wirelessly to my Sony Bravia.

Just doesn't make much sense to me, for example a 720p mkv which is much larger than an mp4 has such quiet audio compared to an mp4 :/
Quite surprised that no one else has had this problem
