Flac to mp3 transcoding

Hi all,
Could anybody please answer the following questions:
- can PS3MS transcode flac files to mp3?
- if the answer is yes, what are the adequate parameters in Pms.conf and in the renderer's config file?

- it should be automatic (unless you have an exotic renderer)

My renderer is a Samsung TV which works fine for me, but only supports mp3 music, whilst my music collection is entirely in flac format.
This is what I have tried so far:
- in Pms.conf: engines = ffmegaudio forcetranscode = wav,flac
- in Samsung.conf: TrancodeAudio = MP3 TranscodeExtensions = wav,flac
I have tried all four combinations of forcetranscode and Transcode extensions (blank | wav,flac), to no avail.
Have I got anything wrong?

well it should be fine then.... Could you try with engines=mplayeraudio maybe ?
otherwise you'll have to take a look in the debug log file, to check if the ffmpeg/mplayer command lines are OK

PMS can't transcode wav... (it's hardcoded in MP3.java)

Anyway, no luck with flac so far. I may have, either to duplicate my music, or to buy a renderer which supports flac - hoping it will work with PS3MS.

Finally, I bought a Conceptronic HDMAi media player wth Samba on-board. Works like a breeze.
