Ok, I can play ANY file no problem.
However, if there is subtitle support, the playback features are dumb, you can only pause or play, not rewind or fast-forward. Otherwise, it goes to the beginning of the movie and it is a pain in the ass.

I hardcoded the subtitles (they are easier for me to see
) so I can make it an avi WITHOUT subtitles. However, the thing STILL does not support FULL playback.What a pain in the ass, delete this stupid post, it's dumb and pointless.
I hope that ps3 media server will have full support for the xbox360
