AVISYNTH/MENCODER QUick Question...

When using MENCODER, the system tray doesn't show anything but PS3MS. When using AVISYNTH/MENCODER it shows FFv in the system tray which leads me to believe FFDshow is being utilized.

Is FFv supposed to show in the system tray when using AVISYNTH/MENCODER?

I am getting video stuttering. Stuttering goes away when I pause the video, but then after a while it starts to stutter again. If I pause for about 3-4 minutes it runs for a good amount of time before it starts to stutter again.

System - HP Mediasmart Server (AMD SIngle core upgraded CPU, with 2gb RAM) 100mb LAN connected. PS3 100mb LAN Connected. File is the Eages Farewell Tour MKV 1080p.

Is this a LAN issue or a CPU issue, or something else?

I think its a LAN issue.
My brother has the same issue's with a 100mb LAN and MKV and AVCHD. He had a lot of video stuttering.
My LAN is a 1000mb and I do not have this issue.
It seems that a 100mb is just not enough for MKV and AVCHD.

Also, look at what programs you have rolling on the background. Seems some programs eat to much bandwith from you're LAN.
And, most important: defragment you're harddrive!
