Dual Quad Core or just Quad Core, any diff ?!

here is a question:
I have a 2.0GHz Quad Core Xeon. i am having problems with VC-1 video files, and i think it is because it only uses one of the cores.

But, what is i put another 2.0GHz Quad Core Xeon processor in my board (which i have a slot for), would it make any difference ?

any ideas?

unfortunately no, VC1 decoding is monothreaded

just out of blue, when i see "Bad SEI detected. SEI too short" in debug.log, what it could possibily mean?
