These are the settings I am using:

ok, I doesn't see what's wrong, so I updated the latest build with more detailed logs

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=919&start=0

so, everyone with subtitles issues are welcome to try the build, at least to have more logs and help understand what's going on

EDIT: you must download the rev308 build, as there's a fix with the font detection on Windows

That actually fixed it! I just had to install rev308 and that was it! Thanks! :D

One more short misc question: "Skips loop filter deblocking for H264; COULD DEGRADE QUALITY, disable this if your CPU is fast enough!!"
Does that mean if enabled, could degrade quality? Not familiar with the term loop filter deblocking, but my CPU is fast enough either way, just want maximum quality.

Yep, also tested subtitle priority order with the same MKV.
Subs works perfect for both MKV and when movie/sub filename is the same.

Issue with font sub margin was fixed on the new build (with default style .ass unclicked as usual). Overscan doesn't work when you have switch to TSmuxer clicked.

The new build has a quirky transcoding buffer status indicator. It quickly jumps up in buffer size without holding steady at all. It is probably just an aesthetic critic but it just irritates me a little.

PMS is a great piece of software but the older versions of the software is vastly superior than the recent builds IMO. Unless the ante has been raised in regards to transcoding and subtitling engines - I'm sticking with 1.00 and 1.03

I've noticed some visual artifacts when playing via multipart RAR. I haven't had the time to confirm if this specifically occurs where the indivual RAR files are separated or if it's simply an issue with the encoding of the video files themselves (always a possibility). What happens is you see "parts" of one scene break through the current one briefly. From the few mutipart RAR I've watched the audio seems fine and it only appears to affect the video.

I need to do more testing on my end in order for me to confirm it's due to multipart RAR instead of some issue with the video files themselves, or some issue playing those specific video files on the PS3. Once I do that I'll provide some more specific details. But I wanted to share my debug and list the general issue in case others have the same problem.

In the meantime here's my 178MB DEBUG shrunk down to a 9MB ZIP.

Attached is the debug.log
Look for example at Milk.mkv

I saw at some points it states "[win32/mencoder_mt.exe] TRACE 23:22:48.836 Process G:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\win32\mencoder_mt.exe has a return code of 255! Maybe an error occured... check the log file"

Normal avis and mpegs play flawlessly, mkvs have this problem.

Reverting to 1.04 for now...

Edit here it is http://rapidshare.com/files/206192553/debug_-_Copy.rar

Anything? :(

mencoder version, maybe (the 1.10.1 embeds the same than 1.03, the 1.04 is more recent but less reliable according to some users here)... I guess it happens only with this particular video ?

It happens with every mkv i have, even with the ones that worked in 1.04...

I also found out that by turning off the Enhanced Multicore Support in the Mencoder Tab, mkv playback works without problems. That helps?

I can make a fresh debug.log and recreate the problem, if this one's confusing.

Thanks

well, if you got the 2 installs, try switching the mencoder_mt.exe, inside the win32 folder
