Need HELP! Can't stream MKV BD rips w/ MakeMKV???

ok. I have downloaded and streamed TONS of BD Rips in MKV format using PS3 MS.....so I decided to try it myself. I got MakeMKV and ripped a few movies with only the DTS audio and no subs...but....when I try to stream these files (which are huge 30-40gigs) I get an error on the PS3 that says "data type not supported".

please, someone, anyone with any idea help me out? I'm getting very frustrated here. TIA

This is not a forum for how to make MKVs. There are plenty of posts already describing what specific codecs are supported, and the google will probably help you more with creating the file.

i have no problems CREATING the file..but I can't seem to stream these ones...even though the ones I have downloaded w/ DTS audio stream just fine. That's why I'm asking here

If you only want to remux, look at the MediaInfo (#7 - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=496) for one that works and one of yours that doesn't work, see what's different, and then figure out the appropriate settings to change in MakeMKV.
Or, you could just transcode the video.

ok strangely enough if i use MKV2VOB it creates an MPG.TS file that I CAN stream...but still can't stream the MKV i've created. any thoughts on this?

When you are using mkv2vob, it should say what is being done to the source video stream to make it PS3 compatible, under the Transcode column.

It might say REF, meaning ReFrame count, or SUBS, meaning they are being hard coded...etc.

Good place to look to see what the problem might be.
