Why pms launch vlc ?

I don't understand exactly why pms launch this program: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe

VLC is used for web-streaming through PMS. If you disable VideoLan under the transcoding settings that should solve your issue.

web streaming ? what is web streaming? can we reach pms with web browser like 192.168.1.1:5001 ?

web streaming = Web TV streamed from internet to your PC, and then transcoded from your PC to the ps3
