PS3MS on Windows 7 64 Bit

What have everyones experiences been with running PS3 MS on Windows 7 64 Bit? I am about to upgrade my Media Serving PC and am waivering as to wether or not to go the 64 bit or 32 bit route.
The PC is primarily used for running PS3MS so that is my main concern ,as im happy with the performance using Windows 7 RC 32 bit at the moment.

Thanks for that, ive already had a read through but i was actually looking for feedback from users who have done the upgrade and if they had encoutered any issues or problems , not if it was actually supported.

The how to is a good starting point though i must admit

There is only one problem I know: The media library doesn't work properly (access denied) when PMS isn't run as Admin.

There's a workaround:
Change NTFS security settings for database subdirectory in installtion folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\database). Add your current user with change privilege.

I've been using PS3MS on Win7-64 Bit RC Build 7100 for 2+ months or so and haven't had any significant problem with it. I did change to a 600MB Transcode Buffer.

I have to say this is the best server I've tried. Keep up the good work and Thank YOU!!

dbthedon, thanks for posting this. I've also been running Win7 32-bit RC for awhile with PS3MS and have been very happy with it, but would like to move to 64bit for my "real" version. Feedback looks good enough to go ahead with it.

I cannot get it to work on my computer. I've tried the official release and the latest beta (366) and neither seem to work. Permissions set via firewall, no dice. Firewall off, no dice. The 'default' WMP extender shows up, but not PS3MS.

Hi All,

I guess my first comment is that the How-to for Win 7 64-bit is more about compiling than anything else. The rest of the instructions are pretty much install the PMS and that's it. It still leaves me with a couple of questions:

* Doesn't look like there's a 64-bit version, is there?
* Does that mean the JRE should be 32-bit as well?
* Should I be loading all 32-codecs or 64 bit?

It's working with both versions. You may want to install 32bit JRE because of Java Plugin for 32bit versions of installed browsers. The 64bit Java Plugin works well with Internet Explorer 64bit.

You only need 32bit codec pack. You may want to install 64bit codec pack for support of 64bit media center.
