LAS vs NAS??? Media server network storage...

Postby lurk01 » Thu May 21, 2009 11:55 am

Hey guys,

Since I got my PS3, and gotten the Media Server working, my old Mvix box has been relegated to external storage. Now, I'm setting up a new network, and before I start buying routers & things, I need some advice. What would be the best way to use the storage on the MVix drive, and stream the data on there to the PS3? Should I attach it via USB to an old laptop, and run a media server on the laptop, and shar the drive on the laptop? Or should I share the drive directly on the network, maybe using something like apple's airport extreme?

Help will be hugely appreciated!!
