Playing VC1 content : mencoder

Dear All,

I have some stuttering issues playing VC1 files as they have to be decoded using mencoder.

I have seen that pausing the film at the start helps the buffer fill up and this may last you through a movie.

Is there any way to tweak mencoder or install a newer version.

My PC spec is :-

Vista 64
8Gb Memoery
Intel Quad Core 2.4
Hard Disk 200 Mb Read/Write
Wireless N connection
