File browsing order / formula?

Postby dsuchter » Sat May 02, 2009 9:22 pm

What's the formula for the order PMS displays files in? Seems to be some sort of hybrid based on the order I added files and factoring in how long since I last restated PMS and or my PS3.

I ask because newly added files show up at the bottom of a list for a while, but eventually move into the standard alphabetical by filename portion of the list.

I think it's the ps3 that does that.
At any time, if you restart the ps3, you'll get the lists in alphabetical order.

I'll experiment with that and see if I can confirm (off the top of my head that seems right). At least that's easier to deal with than having to restart PMS. Thanks!

Nope. Turns out not to be true. I just restarted my PS3, while my Vista x64 server has been on with PMS running continually for a few days. Some files that were added to the PMS shared folder yesterday are showing up at the bottom of the list. This must be a "feature" of PMS.
