Official thread for non-ps3 renderers (Bravia, etc.)

Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (e.g. Xbox 360, TVs &c.)

Hey,

thanks for a very nice software.

It works very smooth with my Sony Bravia WE5. I just have a minor problem. I cant get the thumbnails on photos working. They work with my linkstation fine but not with photos that are in my computer HD and wich I browse with Media Server. It's a bit annoying when you need to open every photo to see what photo it is.

I apologoize if this issua has already been discussed. I used search but didnt find an answer. I have been trying to get this working for several hours now and ran out of ideas so I thought someone here could help.

Thanks in advance!

This is where it went wrong...

PS3 server Samsung B650

Helas, PS3 server is a superb programm, but...
The 20 minute- dead.

I also can only view the first 20 minutes of a movie.

Here's the last part of the debug where it went wrong:

Think of it, ps3 media server will be the first app ever that'll be able to stream to mobile devices :D

Cheers!

Ive been trying to make a conf to be able to do that for personal use, but with no luck could anyone else help?

I second that.

Also if theres a possibility to stream directly on coreplayer thatd be even more awesome!

Hallo,

first of all, thank you for the software PS3 Media Server, it solved a lot of problem I had with other Media servers :!: .
I still have some questions for which I hope that you can help me to solve then.

The configuration:
* a PC IP=10.0.0.140 as Server using Java PS3 Media Server v1.20 build 372,
* a KDL 32V5500 as TV IP=10.0.0.139, (it is correctly recognised),
* a Set Top Box STB from AON TV (for the cable TV): an ADB 3800 TW (see http://www.aontv.org/wiki/ADB-3800-TW for more description) IP = 10.0.0.141. This STB supports a lot of Codecs. The STB is currently as "unknown Renderer" defined.

Part of the "debug-log" are at the end of this post.

Here are the questions:
* How to configure the renderer conf file in order to recognize the STB correctly? I copied a small extract of the log file, that attachment are not allowed. Do you need more details / informations / logs?
* How to configure the web.conf in order to get access to the AON TV streaming channels? I tried the following entry: videostream.IPTV,AONTV=ATV,udp://@239.0.2.62:8208
but it doesn't work.
* I have VLC 1.0.3 installed. Would it be possible for PS3 Media Server to support it soon or do I have to downgrade to the version 0.98a?

In advance thank you.

Re: Official thread for non-ps3 renderers (Bravia, etc.)

Postby Tonio » Sat Jan 23, 2010 4:53 pm

Hello,

I installed yesterday PS3 media server for my bravia KDL+46WE5. After downgrading to VLC 0.97, I was able to see movies from the computer. Only problem, my connection is not stable between computer and TV set. I was with Wlan and now I have PowerLan, but still unstable.

That the traces:

I am having problems with XBMC and Seeking in video, anyone else have expirience with this? When XBMC is suppose to resume a video I have stopped earlier it starts at the beginning rather than the continue from where I left of. Also, Seeking within the movie (jump 10 secs per click and such) is not working either.. I have checked the config file and I changed the seek option from false to true, but I still have the same problem with XBMC..

UPDATE. I installed the latest build launched today and now seeking works again with XMBC. Thanks.

New build and Sony/Bravia;
"no need to tweak that conf file by hand"...

Actually,, I still do;
wmv and avi at least do not show up at all in the Sony "as is".
If I edit the conf file again and set the always transcode for these formats, then they do show up
and they do work.

I still have one issue, which is mp4's.
I can't play them at all through the Sony, If I go through the transcode folder,
it looks as if it starts playing but I only get a black screen and no progress.
Other formats such as mkv, avi,etc,, works.

Second issue for me (on the sony again) is the ff or jump ahead only restarts the video
from the beginning.
