mp4 files not visible from computer on ps3

I am using pms version 1.70.1 - I have a canon camera that takes .mov files - I've tried converting these files to .mp4 and they do not show up in the folders on my computer when searching on my ps3 - they play fine on my computer - the .avi movie files from my old canon camera are visible and play with the ps3, these are also on my computer - I've tried numerous software to convert these .mov files, with the same result: they convert fine, play on my computer fine, but do not show up when searching my computer with the ps3, the folder is there and the .mov files are there as 'unsupported data' .......... any help would be deeply appreciated ............... if I had any hair I would have pulled it all out by now ................ thanks in advance eveyone.
